We are pleased to offer SIMPSONS fans this RARE hand painted original production cel setup, from the classic seventh season episode "Marge Be Not Proud" (1995).
This piece was part of the Nancy Cartwright Exhibition held in 1999, and the cel is hand-signed by Nancy Cartwright (voice of Bart Simpson).
The family go to the portrait studio section of the local discount store, and have their portrait taken by a photographer, until the store detective, Don Brodka, snatches Bart by the collar! Brodka: "I thought I told you, don't return for busted merchandise!” Homer: "What are you doing to my son?" Brodka: "I'm afraid your son broke the eleventh commandment: Thou shalt not steal.” Marge: "That's crazy. Bart's not a shoplifter: he's just a little boy!”
This is a one-of-a-kind, hand-painted production cel setup (there are no others), and the artwork was filmed and used in the making of this SIMPSONS episode. Freeze-frame your DVD or Video, and you will see this unique piece of artwork on screen around the 13:46 mark.
All the characters are hand-painted onto four separate cels, and placed against a copy of the matching scene background.
This 12 field, 3-peghole, 2 cel setup measures 10.5 inches by 12.5 inches wide, and bears the Twentieth Century Fox gold seal (lower corner). The artwork is also accompanied with the original Twentieth Century Fox certificate of authenticity and is in excellent condition.
EPISODE SYNOPSIS:
"Marge Be Not Proud" is the eleventh episode of the seventh season of the American animated television series The Simpsons. It originally aired on Fox in the United States on December 17th, 1995, exactly six years after the series premiere episode "Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire". In the episode, Marge refuses to buy Bart the new video game Bonestorm, so he steals it from a local discount store. Bart is estranged from his mother after he gets caught, so he works to regain her love and trust.
