The classic Milton the Monster opening sequence depicts a mad scientist, Professor Weirdo, and his assistant, Count Kook, mixing ominous liquids in a lab on Horror Hill. An accidental elbow-bump causes them to add too much "tincture of tenderness," creating a sweet, good-natured monster rather than a scary one.
The characters and lettering are hand-inked and hand-painted onto two animation cels, and placed against a hand-painted background. This publicity cel captures the charm of Hal Seeger’s classic opening titles scene from the 1960s.

ABOUT THE SHOW
Milton the Monster, also called The Milton the Monster Show, is an American Saturday-morning animated television series that ran on ABC from October 9th, 1965, to September 8th, 1968.
It was produced and directed by Hal Seeger. The setting of the series is a haunted house on Horror Hill. The series features Milton, a Frankenstein-like monster created by a mad scientist. Because Milton is so good and lovable, Professor Weirdo and Count Kook spend many sleepless nights plotting ways to evict him
from the castle. Also living in Weirdo's castle atop Horror Hill are two other monsters, Heebie the ghoul
