Comic Mint your best source for rare, kooky, and classic animation art, is pleased to offer fans of "The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show" this RARE Jay Ward limited edition cel numbered 32 out of 300 pieces. Rocket J. Squirrel and Boris prepare to duel in this hilarious twist on the old dueling tradition, replacing the customary pistols with pies. Titled “Pie Duel", this rare 12 field cel has been hand-inked and hand-painted.
The cel has been hand signed by JAY WARD (1920-1989). It was said that if you bought a cel and asked Jay Ward to sign it, he would walk out and sign it for you. The cel measures 12.5" by 10.5” inches (unframed), and has the Jay Ward Studio gold seal in the lower right corner.
BACKGROUND INFO:
Because Bullwinkle was animated in Mexico, virtually all production cels used in its making were disposed of. To meet the growing popularity of animation cels, the Jay Ward Studio created scene cels and limited edition cels, which were sold to fans and collectors at his studio store, The Dudley Do-Right Emporium on Sunset Blvd during the 1980's.
