John Estes - Original Art for Batman Deadman: Death and Glory, page 1 (DC, 1996)
“Death and Glory” written by James Robinson and illustrated by John Estes, is a graphic novel released in 1996. Robinson’s writing and Estes’ art coalesce into a fine work of graphic literature that intrigues the mind in addition to entertaining it.
This opening page one title splash, features a dramatic and frightening image of the Joker, with the Batman swooping in from behind.
Estes uses mixed media techniques to bring to life the characters and backgrounds in this graphic novel. He pencilled, inked and colored the entire book himself. His artwork accentuated Robinson's story, giving it an eerie vibe in a powerful way. The more gruesome elements were amplified because of his art. This page has an image area measuring 13.5" x 22.25” inches and is in excellent condition.
PLEASE NOTE: The artwork comes UNFRAMED, even though we have included a photo of the art matted and framed.
