COMMENTS
Comic Mint, your best source for rare, kooky, and classic animation art, is pleased to offer GIGANTOR fans this sensational hand-inked and hand-painted limited edition cel placed against a photographic background. This cel is one of the prototypes kept at the studio, and showcases the cast of Gigantor, from left to right: Inspector Blooper, Dick Strong, Jimmy Sparks and his uncle, Dr. Bob Brilliant.

In 1963, Fred Ladd (shortly after releasing an English-language adaptation of Astroboy) and Delphi Associates adapted and overdubbed 52 episodes of the Japanese Sci-fi children's cartoon Tetsujin-28, releasing and distributing for the American TV market as Gigantor.

Set in the year 2000, Gigantor tells the story of Jimmy Sparks and his remote-controlled flying robot, Gigantor. Critically panned by adults, the cartoons were a hit with kids and have become a cult classic for baby boomer sci-fi robot fans.
