We are pleased to pleased to offer SIMPSONS fans one last opportunity to purchase this long SOLD-OUT hand painted limited edition animation cel.
Everything in this piece is hand-painted onto a single cel and applied to a giclee background (blue sky and brown foreground). This edition is a RARE publishers proof, hand-numbered 9 out of 20 pieces worldwide, and is hand-signed by Simpsons creator, MATT GROENING, with a remarque sketch of Bart Simpson. The artwork measures 16" x 14.5" inches unframed, and features an amazing 68 characters and 40 props, which are all hand-painted in 41 colours!
After the release of "The Simpsons Sing the Blues" album in 1990, plans were made for a follow-up album to be called, THE YELLOW ALBUM. The cover artwork for that album was set in The Simpsons' living room. It parodies The Beatles' "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" LP. Years later, the art for the album was revised and reborn as one of the best and most in-demand Couch Gags ever, as featured in episodes such as (4F06) Lisa's Date With Density and (4F12) The Itchy & Scratchy & Poochie Show.
The cel has the FOX gold seal (lower right corner) and is accompanied by the Twentieth Century Fox certificate of authenticity. The artwork is in excellent condition.
