We are pleased to offer SIMPSONS fans this RARE hand painted original production cel, from the classic seventh season episode "Bart Sells His Soul" (1995).
After finding out that Milhouse had traded Bart’s soul to Comic Book Guy for Alf pogs, he camps out the rest of the night in front of The Android's Dungeon & Baseball Card Shop , waiting for Comic Book Gut to arrive, so he can try getting his soul back. Comic Book Guy (eating a burrito) tells Bart
that he does not have the said piece of paper anymore, and refuses to disclose who he sold it to. Bart bangs his head against a cabinet. Comic Book Guy: "Um, excuse me. No banging your head on the display case, please! It contains a very rare Mary Worth in which she has advised a friend to commit suicide. Thank you”.
This is a one-of-a-kind, hand-painted production cel (there are no others), and the artwork was filmed and used in the making of this SIMPSONS episode. Freeze-frame your DVD or Video, and you will see this unique piece of artwork on screen around the 20:17 mark. Comic Book Guy and Bart are hand-painted onto two separate cels, and placed against a copy of the matching scene background.
This 12 field, 3-peghole, celluloid measures 10.5 inches by 12.5 inches wide, and bears the Twentieth Century Fox gold seal (lower corner). The artwork is also accompanied with the original Twentieth Century Fox certificate of authenticity and is in excellent condition.
EPISODE SYNOPSIS:
"Bart Sells His Soul" is the fourth episode of the seventh season of the American animated television series The Simpsons. It first aired on Fox in the United States on October 8th, 1995. In the episode, Bart, after being punished for playing a prank at church, scornfully dismisses the concept
of the soul, and to show he is serious in his scepticism, he agrees to sell his soul to Milhouse. However, after several ongoing strange events make him think he really has lost his soul, he desperately tries to regain it.
