The Ren and Stimpy Show “Yak Shaving Day" Original Production Background & Model Cel (1991).
We are pleased to offer Ren & Stimpy fans this original production cel setup from the filmed sequence in Show Segment 1 which was screened after the episode "The Boy Who Cried Rat" (1991).
This original production background is rendered in gouache on textured board, measuring 10.5 inches by 13 inches wide and has the three-peg holes. Applied to the background is a hand-inked & hand-painted key model cel of Stimpy, which bears the Nickelodeon gold seal (lower corner). The artwork is accompanied by the original Nickelodeon certificate of authenticity and is in excellent condition.
This famous scene features Stimpy participating in "Yak Shaving Day," a Christmas-like Holiday where participants hang diapers instead of stockings, stuff rubber boots with coleslaw, and watch for the shaven yak to float by in his enchanted canoe. This is a one-of-a-kind piece which was filmed and used in the making of this episode. Freeze-frame your DVD or Video, and you will see this unique piece of artwork on screen around the 21:31 mark.
