X-Men: The Animated Series:
"Graduation Day" is the 10th episode of Season 5 (and the series finale) of X-Men: The Animated Series, airing on September 20th, 1997.
A frail Professor X attempts to speak for peace, but Henry Peter Gyrich shoots him with a mutant-disrupting weapon, causing worldwide riots. Magneto is leading an uprising on Genosha, but the X-Men (Cyclops, Jean Grey, Wolverine) travel there to inform him of Xavier's condition. Lilandra arrives from the Shi'Ar Empire, stating she can save Xavier, but he must leave Earth immediately, forcing him to say goodbye to his students. The episode concludes with a heartfelt goodbye from Xavier to his X-Men, including a final moment with his long-time friend/rival, Magneto.
