Comic Mint is pleased to offer Disney fans this  special limited edition cel titled "He Loves Me." It shows Ariel, The Little Mermaid, plucking petals from a flower as she plays "He loves me ... he loves me not ... " for Prince Eric's heart. Sebastian is shown below, looking simply horrified that Ariel is in love with ... GASP ... A HUMAN!!

This SOLD-OUT sericel was released back in 1997, as a limited edition of 5000 pieces worldwide.
This sericel edition, "He Loves Me", recreates Sequence 4, Scene 1 from Walt Disney Pictures' classic 1989 animated feature: While her crabby conscience, Sebastian, frets over her predicament, little mermaid Ariel fancifully daydreams about her human love, Prince Eric.

The Walt Disney Studios has created these character images using the fine art screen-printing process of color reproduction, known as serigraphy. Disney srtists created two hand-inked, hand-painted animation cels which were used by Team Art Studio of Gardena, California in the production of these sericels. A total of 23 colors were used to recreate the color image, each of which has been exactlingly screen-printed, one color at a time, onto the acetate cel.

This beautiful sericel measures 14" x 15" inches (unframed), and the cel has the DISNEY studio seal (lower corner) and is accompanied with the official certificate of authenticity.

Serigraph Cels, or sericels, recreate images of characters. To produce a sericel, studio artists create a hand-inked, hand-colored painting or model of characters, which is then transferred to the acetate cel by a silk-screen printing process known as serigraphy. Sericels are printed in Limited Editions and are richly colored and detailed.
