Comic Mint, your best source for rare, kooky, and classic animation art, is pleased to offer POPEYE fans this sensational hand-painted and hand-inked limited edition cel created by Myron Waldman, titled 'Mutiny', which is placed against a lithograph background.

Popeye proves once again he's the strongest sailor of the seven seas in this action-packed ship scene. As Olive Oyl keeps tally on Popeye's knock-em' down punches, Wimpy lends a helping hand only to his hamburger. This 16-field limited edition cel is taken from an original sketch of artist Myron Waldman. The cel is hand signed by legendary animator, MYRON WALDMAN, with an image area measuring 16.5" x 12.5" inches.

The cel is accompanied with a Letter of Authenticity.

Born in Brooklyn, New York in 1908, Myron Waldman was a force in the animation industry. Waldman studied art at the Pratt Institute and began working with Fleischer Studio in 1930. It was with this studio that he did some of his most famous work, including Betty Boop, Raggedy Ann, Gulliver’s Travels, the animated adaptations of Superman, and Popeye. Throughout his career, which continued into the eighties, Waldman was an animator in more than 150 films and television shows, and was the animation director for more than fifty. In 1986, he was awarded the Motion Picture Sceen Cartoonists Award, and in 1997 he was honored with the Winsor McCay Award, presented in recognition of the lifetime achievements in animation. Waldman passed away in 2006, but his work continues to affect and influence adults and children alike.
