Comic Mint, your best source for rare, kooky, and classic animation art, is pleased to offer MR. MAGOO fans this RARE original hand-inked and hand-painted 12 field production cel, featuring the near sighted Mister Magoo. Presented on a Magoo print background. Mister Magoo was voiced by the great Jim Backus, and has been around since his very first cartoon, which was the theatrical short The Ragtime Bear (1949).

Magoo pioneered a massive shift in animation history, as UPA championed a minimalist modern and highly stylized graphic layout to their cartoon shorts. This 12 field production cel features Mr. Magoo dressed in a tuxedo and top hat, was created at the UPA studio representing an actual frame of animation that was filmed and used in a MAGOO short, circa 1950’s.

Fully named Quincy Magoo, the character is an elderly wealthy and fiercely stubborn retiree whose extreme nearsightedness—combined with his refusal to admit he has a vision problem—constantly lands him in dangerous and comical situations. Through sheer uncanny luck he always escapes unharmed leaving bystanders to think he is a lunatic.
