We are pleased to offer SIMPSONS fans this RARE hand painted original production cel from the classic seventh season episode "The Curse of the Flying Hellfish" (1996).
In order to get the treasure, Bart and Abe head for the Hellfish monument in Springfield's cemetery. Bart, holding a lantern, with Grampa walking towards the monument, holding up two keys to unlock each of the nine locks on the door.
This is a one-of-a-kind, hand-painted production cel (there are no others), and the artwork was filmed and used in the making of this SIMPSONS episode. Freeze-frame your DVD or Video, and you will see this unique piece of artwork on screen around the 15:07 mark. Both characters are hand-painted onto separate cels and placed against a copy of the matching scene background.
This 12 field, 3-peghole, celluloid measures 10.5 inches by 12.5 inches wide, and bears the Twentieth Century Fox gold seal (lower corner). The artwork is also accompanied with the original Twentieth Century Fox certificate of authenticity and is in excellent condition.
EPISODE SYNOPSIS:
"The Curse of the Flying Hellfish"" is the twenty-second episode of the seventh season of The Simpsons and the one-hundred and fiftieth episode overall.
It originally aired on April 28th, 1996. The Flying Hellfish was the military unit Abraham Simpson, Charles Montgomery Burns, and several other Springfieldians served in during World War II. The "Buried World War II treasure is the prize in a tontine, in which Grampa Simpson and Mr. Burns are the last two surviving members. But Burns is determined that he'll be the one who collects the prize.
