We are pleased to offer SIMPSONS fans this RARE hand painted original production cel setup, from the classic eighth season episode "The Mysterious Voyage of Homer Simpson" (1997).
RARE cel of Homer (having eaten several "Guatemalan insanity peppers) wanders through Springfield searching for his soulmate, ending up on the waterfront, where he sees a bright light coming from a lighthouse! Homer rushes to the lighthouse, climbing up a steep rock face after getting swallowed by a wave in the process.
This is a one-of-a-kind, hand-painted production cel (there are no others), and the artwork was filmed and used in the making of this SIMPSONS episode. Freeze-frame your DVD or Video, and you will see this unique piece of artwork on screen around the 17:38 mark. Homer is hand-painted onto a single cel, and the ocean is a hand-painted cel overlay, with both placed against a copy of the matching scene background.
This 12 field, 3-peghole, celluloid measures 10.5 inches by 12.5 inches wide, and bears the Twentieth Century Fox gold seal (lower corner). The artwork is also accompanied with the original Twentieth Century Fox certificate of authenticity and is in excellent condition
EPISODE SYNOPSIS:
"El Viaje Misterioso de Nuestro Jomer (The Mysterious Voyage of Homer)", (Spanish pronunciation) also known as The Mysterious Voyage of Our Homer, is the ninth episode of the eighth season of The Simpsons, which originally aired January 5th, 1997. The episode sees Homer eat several "Guatemalan insanity peppers" and go on a mysterious voyage, which features surreal animation to depict the elaborate hallucination. Following this, he questions his relationship with Marge and goes on a journey to find his soulmate. The episode explores themes of marriage, community and alcohol use.
