About David Swift:
The graphic world of David Swift is a lively, colorful, stylish place - part Punk Rock, part Tokyo, part spray can, mixed with a little Pop Art. His images are fast and spontaneous, through his technique is anything but. Growing up in the Skate and Surf culture of Santa Monica, he was mostly inspired by his great grandfather, who was an architect, who had designed many of the historic buildings in Los Angeles. From this Swift samples from all the above and builds comninations of colors and composition, to bring art to the artless. Swift was born in Los Angeles, California in 1972 and has drawn or painted since childhood. He studied illustration, animation and graphic design at CalArts in California. His illustrations have appeared in art galleries, on book covers, in magazine, clothing and skateboard decks; in both domestic and international markets.
