From the award-winning team of JEFF LOEB & TIM SALE is this sequence of three outstanding pages pencilled and inked by Tim Sale from "DAREDEVIL: YELLOW" Issue 4. Outstanding action sequence featuring ol' hornhead defeating his first supervillain, Electro. Page 4 features one of the best images of Daredevil ever seen, so good, that Marvel published this panel as the front cover to the trade paperback collection. Page 6 features DD jumping into Electro, followed by the Page 8 splash which features DD punching out Electro's lights! The artwork is on standard art board, measuring 11" x 17" inches. The artwork is in pristine condition, no creases, tears or white-out corrections.
Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale are right up there in the ranks of comic book greats like Frank Miller, Alan Moore, and Stan Lee. I read this book not too long after reading The Long Halloween and it blew me away. This is the story of Daredevil before he was THE Daredevil (meaning before Miller took over). The story isn't dark and gloomy like how just about every writer has tried to do but rather makes it very vibrant which is a welcome change. This story, which is a retelling of Daredevil's life during his first four issues, also doesn't try to bring DD into the present but keeps it in the sixtes, which is refreshing. The artwork is masterful and amongst the best I've seen and the dialogue is great.
Storyline: The origin of the blind super hero who, in the early days of his career, donned a yellow costume and sought justice outside the law and found hope in his love for Karen Page. Attorney Matt Murdock lives in a world of total darkness, but the blackness is teeming with sounds and scents, tastes and textures that sighted men cannot perceive. As the Daredevil, he prowls the city searching for revenge, seeking a justice outside the law. Among his adversaries in this vivid adventure are battle-scarred fiends such as Electro and the Owl.
