Original 1970 U.S. release 11" x 14" Lobby Card set of 8 color cards from Ted Post's classic apes sequel: "BENEATH THE PLANET OF THE APES" starring James Franciscus, Linda Harrison, Maurice Evans, Kim Hunter, Victor Buono, James Gregory & Charlton Heston as Taylor. All cards have the the 70 / 165 in the lower right corners.
Brief Synopsis: Astronaut Brent is sent to rescue Taylor but crash lands on the Planet of the Apes, just like Taylor did in the original film. Taylor has disappeared into the Forbidden Zone so Brent and Nova try to follow and find him. He discovers a cult of humans that fear the Apes' latest military movements and finds himself in the middle. Tension mounts to a climactic battle between ape and man deep in the bowels of the planet. Sequel to "Planet of the Apes." Film two of the series of five.
This highly sought after lobby card set is in EXCELLENT to MINT condition. There are NO creases, NO scratches, sharp corners, image areas are crisp and vibrant, beautiful color gloss. The only defects are four tiny pin holes on card # 5 (Gorilla image) on the horses mane. Card # 6 has one tiny pin hole (not visible) in the lower shirt area of Taylor. Card # 7 with Nova and Brent walking through the tunnel has minute surface wear and the corners of the card are not razor sharp. This is a super set of cards!
