Here folks is an extremely rare cover by comics legend Mike Ploog!
Exquisitely rendered in acrylic on masonite board, this painting has a delicious richness and texture, and features both the mindless Man-Thing and the master of the mystic arts, Doctor Strange. This watercolor painting was the published cover to "Man-Thing" Volume 3, Issue 2.
The painted image takes up the entire board, measuring 11.5" x 16.5" inches, this piece is in perfect condition and is signed by the artist in the lower right corner.
In comics, Mike Ploog is best known for his work on Marvel Comics' classic 1970s Man-Thing and Monster of Frankenstein series, and as the initial artist on the features "Ghost Rider" and "Werewolf by Night". His dramatic yet cartoony style at the time, in which bodies appear almost to be made of soft wax, was heavily influenced by the art of Will Eisner, under whom he served his apprenticeship.
