Michael Herring's original painting published as the cover jacket for "Star Trek: Starfleet Academy #3: Cadet Kirk" (Star Trek Pocket Books, 1986).

This awesome painting was rendered by Michael Herring, a well known science fiction and fantasy illustrator also known for his covers to the Wizard of Oz series published by Del Rey in the 1980's. Painted in oils on stretched canvas, this beautifully painted piece measures nearly 20" inches across by 30" inches tall.

The artwork is in perfect condition and is signed by the artist above the right shoulder of Dr. McCoy, it is accompanied with a laminated copy of the front & back cover jacket.
